The setting is unbeatable…. lush gardens of bougainvillea and fruiting trees surround the beautiful old stone Casa Principal or Owner’s Quarters of this historic hacienda.  Currently planted with bamboo, the “fabrica” still produces hand-crafted fencing, the Maya-speaking workforce coming from small neighboring villages.

Nearby attractions include the spectacular Maya ruins of Uxmal (30 min)., The restored haciendas of Ochil and Tepozon for elegant dining and exquisite handicrafts from the hacienda’s own workshops.  The colonial city of Merida is approx. an hour north, with theater, art galleries, great resturants, world class museums and shopping.  Just twenty minutes away you can visit the almost unknown ruins of Oxkintok - climb the highest pyramid and watch the sunset from one of the highest points in Yucatan.

Xixim is a haven for flora and fauna with a total extent of almost 1,000 acres. You can see many species of birds both native to the area and migratory, attracted by the peace and plentiful water of the hacienda.

Rent includes daily maid service, continental breakfast served on the terrace, internet, local phone calls, use of grounds and pool.  The Casa Principal can be rented alone; it offers four big bedrooms each with bath, some with multiple beds as seen in the photographs, if you wish to share.  There are two additional rooms, “Chak” and “Balam”, again with en suite baths and outside access, also available for larger parties - a total of six bedrooms and the ability to accomodate 14 in the Casa Principal and an additional four in the entire hacienda.

Meals are available - there is a professional cook on hand able to prepare both Yucatecan and European cuisine; just pick in advance from the Hacianda menu and shopping can be done in advance of your visit.
